SUPPORT WORKER

Homebird Care has an opportunity available for a full-time Support Worker to join us based in Liverpool 6 area.

Homebird Care is an established Liverpool based Support Service providing care and support to people living in ‘supported living’ settings so that they can live as independently as possible with 24-hour staff cover. Our service users include people with Mental Health issues, Drug and Alcohol misuse and Learning Disabilities.

Previous experience is not essential as induction programme and sector appropriate training provided upon commencement of employment.

The shift pattern will include weekends, evenings, bank holidays as well as being available for sleep-ins. You must also be available for training. The successful applicant for this role will require an enhanced DBS check.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Provide support, advocacy and information to the individuals we support.
• Provide emotional and practical support to service users.
• Help service users meet their personal support needs sensitively and appropriately to a high standard, including personal hygiene, assistance with laundry, and preparing meals and drinks.
• To provide personal care to service users as and when required.
• Supporting service users to take any prescribed medicine, complying with all medicine policies, including storage, administering and record keeping.
• Enable service users to achieve independence as far as possible in all areas of their life by providing appropriate information, opportunity, training, counselling and support.
• Help service users identify and choose their support needs.
• Assist in devising, implementing and reviewing support plans.

We also require a Support Worker to:
• Provide a safe, comfortable and supportive home for the individuals we support
• Assist the individuals we support to present themselves as valued members of the local community
• Keep records and participate in administrative tasks
• Be an active member of the House/Service team


Hours 3pm to 10pm with sleep over, then 8am-3pm
