Job Description

The role:
we are looking for individuals interested in the regulatory support officer role, which requires no prior experience. to become part of our team, you will need to be enthusiastic, keen to learn, and prepared to assist our dedicated team of staff in the undertaking of our statutory functions. the authority is at the frontline of food safety, animal, and public health controls. successful candidates will be responsible for enforcing united kingdom legislation by means of enforcement, advice, guidance, and education. other responsibilities will include the enforcement of food safety legislation, international health regulations, including the inspection of vessels, and shellfish classification.

as a regulatory support officer you will provide support to port health officers/official veterinarians at the border control post when required
the duties of a regulatory support officer will provide administrative support functions
in the role of regulatory support officer you will use and maintain accurate records, systems, and databases/spreadsheets
as a regulatory support officer you will assist in carrying out identity/physical checks and sampling relating to imported food
