Job Description

Please note: due to the nature of the role and for reasons of privacy and dignity, this post requires a male worker. this is an occupational requirement permitted under schedule 9 of the equality act 2010.

the role:
as a protect worker, you will be working with a team of experienced professionals supporting children and their families who have or are experiencing exploitation across our city. this could be short- or long-term support to help reduce the risks of criminal or sexual exploitation
the children who are supported by the protect team can range from primary school aged children through to young adults and the team work in a variety of settings
as a protect worker, you will be experienced in interacting with children, have strong communication skills, are able to work as part of a multi-agency team specifically colleagues in children’s social care and police to create plans which help to meet the needs of the children and families you are working with
you will assess, plan and deliver interventions with children and may also work to support their parents and carers. this may include advocating and supporting at various meetings
as a protect worker you will maintain accurate records of the work that you are completing and so will need to have good ict skills
this post is subject to an enhanced disclosure application to the disclosure and barring service
