Job Description
a family is looking for a kind, patient, and reliable personal assistant to support their primary-school-aged autistic son, who is non-verbal and also has adhd. the role focuses on supporting him to enjoy activities in ways that feel comfortable, engaging, and safe.
support includes collecting him from home and accompanying him to indoor and outdoor activities. his interests include animals (farms, zoos, etc.), trampolining, shallow pool swimming, gymnastics, and running in the park. transport costs for agreed activities will be reimbursed.
key responsibilities
provide responsive 1:1 support.
support him to explore activities at home and in the community.
create sensory-considerate environments that support emotional regulation.
respond calmly and adaptively to changing sensory or emotional needs.
offer gentle guidance to support safety in the community.
encourage communication using his preferred methods (gestures, visuals).
build a positive, trusting, respectful relationship.

willing to undertake an enhanced dbs check.
comfortable responding to varying sensory/emotional needs.
able to follow family guidance and adapt support.
physically able to engage in active/outdoor play.
committed to safeguarding and privacy.
desirable experience
experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent children.
knowledge of sensory-supportive strategies or visual communication.
experience in childcare, education, or support roles.
annual leave: 5.6 weeks per year (pro-rata)
location: l8, liverpool
dbs: enhanced dbs required
pay: £12.71 per hour
