Job Description

We are looking to recruit driver operatives within our neighbourhood & housing directorate.

in this role of driver operative, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of manual and mechanical streetcare duties to maintain and continuously improve the image of the council across liverpool. you will be required to support with weed management identifying and removing weeds using both manual and chemical methods of removal. you will be required to apply herbicides in line with safety, environmental and training regulations.
as a driver operative you will work independently or as part of a team, the role involves driving and operating various vehicles, completing route-based tasks and supporting both planned and reactive operations across the city.
as a driver operative you are expected to use handheld devices for recording activities, complete all required documentation, follow health and safety procedures, and represent the council positively when dealing with the public and partner services.
the role of driver operative is physically demanding, involving outdoor work all year round and involves tasks such as litter picking, sweeping, litter bin servicing, leaf clearance, weed managing and event cleansing.
to be applicable for this role you must hold a full uk driving licence and have knowledge of health and safety requirements associated with street cleansing operations.

please note that this role is a 4 on 4 off working pattern working from 7:00 to 5:30pm. this working pattern incurrs an additional weekend allowance of £6014.15 in addition to the salary quoted.
