- Would you like to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people affected by sexual violence?Are you passionate about ensuring that these young people receive the therapeutic support that they need to move forward with their lives? If so, you could be the right person to join our Sunflowers team at RASA Merseyside as a Children and Young People's Counsellor.You will be experienced in counselling young people, have a clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, have knowledge of and ability to work with issues of consent, confidentiality, and capacity and have the ability to liaise in a professional manner with agencies and individuals at all levels.This post is funded for 18 months, to commence as soon as possible subject to notice period. There is 3 month probationary period.RASA Merseyside reserves the right only to recruit women. This has legal verification under the Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOQ) of the Equality Act 2010RASA Merseyside is committed to safeguarding all children, young people and adults and expects all RASA staff to act accordingly at all times.Job PurposeTo work within a multi-agency setting to provide an emotional support and counselling service to children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse. This includes the ability to:risk assess and safety plan to reduce and prevent harm.provide trauma-informed therapeutic counselling to children and young people – willingness to work in both Wirral and Bootle bases.provide trauma-informed guidance to caregivers and other professionals as appropriate.RASA Merseyside is committed to safeguarding all children, young people and adults and expects all RASA staff to act accordingly at all times.RASA Merseyside reserves the right only to recruit women.
