£45,585 - £57,698 pa

The University of Liverpool is a Russell Group University with a wide variety of academic and non-academic activities.

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced safety professional to join the University’s Health and Safety team. The primary role of the new assistant adviser is to help the team increase its presence and visibility on campus and will be involved in a wide range of on-site activities so must have experience in:

• Providing advice and guidance on a broad range of workplace risks including biological risks.
• Overseeing and undertaking a range of on-site inspections, surveys and workplace assessments
• Health and safety auditing
• Accident investigations
• Developing and delivering training courses
• Leading small projects and working groups

You should have:

• Honours degree or equivalent in a science, technology, engineering, medical (STEM) or relevant subject or relevant professional experience
• NEBOSH Diploma in health and safety (or working towards the diploma and expected to finish in 2023)
• Experience working in a large, multi-disciplined organisation
• Excellent communication skills at all levels

Flexibility in approach and the ability to work with minimal supervision is essential. This is a challenging role, where the right person can make a real difference.
