Salary: £22,969 - £25,928 pa (SCP 20-23)

Location: Merseyside

Employment type: Full Time

Contract type: Permanent

Job Description:
Following recent staff changes, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infrastructure (Public Transport) Development and Support Team within the Asset Management Service Area of Merseytravel.

You will take responsibility for ensuring that bus stop infrastructure is provided and maintained for use by the traveling public and where possible, opportunities are sought to enhance that infrastructure by utilising third party funding.

Working as part of a wider integrated team you will get involved in the capital programme and the various other programmes of work to upgrade bus stop infrastructure (e.g. Green Bus Routes).

There will be a need to investigate and provide responses to questions and complaints received from elected members and the general public using the Authority’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. A portion of the work will involve attendance on site to agree works, gather data and inspect the work of partners and third parties. The role also requires the post holder to process the suspension of bus stops to enable highway works by developers and utility companies.

During an exciting time for the City Region resulting from unprecedented change driven by the pandemic, climate emergency, and the ongoing devolution agenda, there is a need to ensure that the Authority retains a high-quality stock of bus stop infrastructure. Quality bus stop infrastructure will support the City Region as it aims to deliver the Metro Mayor’s vision of a London- style transport system. Through this role you will be able to get involved and help deliver that meaningful change. This role should suit someone with good problem-solving skills, who can relate to others and deliver as part of a team, whilst also having the ability to use initiative.

Benefits we offer you include flexible working, travel pass for bus, rail & ferry, 28 days annual leave (in addition to bank holidays) increasing to 33 days after 5 years, a structured continuing professional development programme and the opportunity to thrive within a team which has a wealth of knowledge and experience that they are happy to share with you.
