Hours: Monday – Friday (40 hours per week)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum DOE
Holidays: 26 days + Bank Holidays

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a small but successful and growing insecticide manufacturer based in South Liverpool for an experienced Quality Manager to join our team
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the purpose of this role is to ensure the effective running and management of the Laboratory/Quality Team, ensuring quality standards, quality systems and procedures are followed and adhered to.

Essential Education:
• Educated to minimum degree level within Chemistry or related discipline.

Experience:
• Have an extensive quality / laboratory background, working in a similar role.
• Working knowledge of Quality Standard ISO 9001:2015.
• Experience in introducing and maintaining accredited quality systems.
• Internal Auditor experience.
• Be able to manage, motivate, train and empower a small team of people.
• Have drive and enthusiasm.
• Experience in working with multi-disciplined teams.
• Possess excellent communication skills (both written & verbal).
• Ability to record and interpret data correctly (accurate & precise).
• Be methodical / analytical in approach.
• Be computer literate.
• Ability to cope under pressure.
• Be adaptable and flexible.
• Continuous improvement approach.
• Have awareness of regulations for the management of hazardous materials.
• Be aware of the regulatory requirements for the level of the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• To ensure the effective running and management of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015).
• Supervise Laboratory work to ensure timely completion of consignments.
• Manage the Laboratory, ensuring the quality standards, quality systems and procedures are followed rigorously.
• Raising the formulation sheet for the mixing area.
• Providing lab equipment instructions and procedural guidance in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct lab checks for incoming Raw Materials.
• Ensure lab checks are completed for all formulated products.
• Keeping accurate records of the ingredients in each batch.
• Conduct Gas Chromatography analysis work.
• To ensure the Quality Team verify and monitor the quality control procedures.
• Assist in maintaining internationally recognised and leading edge quality systems by accreditation where appropriate.
• Conduct regular internal audits and be the lead auditor for the site (ISO 9001:2015)
• Conduct regular checks of your team’s inline quality control.
• Assists with and supervises the maintenance of the lab and equipment.
• Inspection, cleaning, calibration, testing and repair of lab equipment; and organization and cleaning of the lab, including preparation and storage areas.
• Checks supply levels and orders, stores, and distributes new supplies.
• Develop and implement a training programme for the Laboratory/Quality team.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in accordance with 5S.
• Play a lead role in continuous improvement.
