Events Assistant Ref:3005937

Details

Spin Up Science Ltd (www.spin-up.science) was incorporated in 2018 to support entrepreneurial scientists, inspire future innovators and establish the UK as a centre for technology commercialisation. We work to connect scientists and engineers across the UK’s academic institutions with local industry through training programs, invited talks, technology showcases, and hands-on opportunities to work alongside enterprises to foster local scientific innovation ecosystems.

We are expanding our Liverpool team and so we are looking for an Events Assistant to work directly with our operations team to organise community events and an awards ceremony for science and technology startups in the North West region. The role is varied and would entail active involvement in all aspects of planning, coordinating and delivering an awards ceremony.

The Events Assistant will work alongside our COO and be involved in planning meetings and ideating the design and production of the event, whilst maintaining all project delivery elements within the time scales required. They will manage and organise engagements with key partners and stakeholders, interact with existing supporters and find relevant sources for further sponsorship of the event. The role will also involve leading promoting and publicising the event with our marketing team to generate interest, as well as supporting the event delivery through coordinating staff and attendees on the day.

The role will be remote with the opportunity to meet with the Liverpool based team members regularly, and will also include regular communication with the wider UK team through digital communication (Zoom meetings and Slack). There will also be opportunities for the whole Spin Up Science team to get together face-to-face by holding meetings in either Liverpool or at our head office in Bristol.
