Details
The Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and proficient Cycling and Walking Officer to join our Highways Development Control team. You will be the first point of contact for all matters relating to Active Travel and will play an important role in making sure it stays at the top of the agenda as we continue with the improvement of our highway network in Liverpool. Interested? We would love to hear from you!

An excellent communicator, you will have experience of working with elected members, the public and a range of internal and external partners. Part of the role is to coordinate and attend the Active Travel Forum and occasionally attend Committee meetings. The continued development of a high quality connected cycling network and an environment that makes walking safe and convenient for all pedestrians are key objectives. To help achieve this, you will need to make full use of your project management experience as you will have responsibility for leading on an ambitious programme of highway schemes to introduce well designed infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians. You will also be required to prepare funding bids and should be able to demonstrate a track record of success in this area.

Liverpool City Council is committed to having a workforce that is representative of the communities we serve. We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and believe that the decision to appoint should be based upon whether an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications and abilities make them the most suitable candidate for the role. All applications for jobs in the service of the Authority will receive equal treatment irrespective of their race, gender, marital status, age, disability, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or socioeconomic status.

We will ensure that disabled applicants are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.
