- Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Chimpanzee Conservation 0.4 FTE(Fixed-term up to 22 months)£33,797 - £40,323 pro-rata per annumVacancy Reference: 3124The School of Biological and Environmental Sciences is seeking to appoint a part-time postdoctoral research fellow in chimpanzee conservation for a fixed term period of up to 22 months.You will join the Jane Goodall Institute-funded project investigating chimpanzee conservation in western Tanzania, coordinating ongoing survey work in Tanzania and analysing long-term data.You will work closely with an UK-based team and also primarily Swahili speaking field-based teams to ensure surveys continue on schedule and conduct preliminary analyses on incoming data.Duties include collating and managing long-term monitoring data from genetic, acoustic, camera trap, and line-transects across Tanzania, leading analyses into chimpanzee population size, distribution, and habitat use, conduct trend analyses to assess change over time, write research papers for peer-reviewed animal behaviour, primate, and conservation journals, as well as participate in applications for grant funding.
