Liverpool City Council is looking to recruit one permanent Adult's Social Worker in our Careline Service. The successful candidate will contribute to the operational delivery of an effective Adult's Social Care Service as part of an integrated team responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable Adult's and continuously improving outcomes. The role will involve contact with individuals, family members and other professionals, in order to gather information and screen referrals.

The post holders will be expected to:

Support the “first point of contact” function for Adults social care. This includes undertaking enquiries with service users and professionals in the initial stage of the Adults referral process and agree appropriate interventions.
Work in accordance with Safeguarding Procedures in the identification and protection of vulnerable Adults.
 Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken and carry out required administrative procedures, including preparation of reports as required within the Portfolio’s policy guidance.
Carry out duties to the highest standard of professional practice, consistent with all of Liverpool City Council’s policies, code of practice, vision and aims and outcomes.

This role will involve working as a part of the 24/7 social work service following a variable shift pattern covering day, evening and night shifts. During the out of hour’s period, the post holders will work generically covering statutory social work with both adults, children and families.

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check at the appropriate level, in addition to the salary the role also attracts a 15% allowance for unsocial hours/shift work and will be paid where applicable.
