JOB TITLE Volunteer Coordinator
LOCATION: St Helens
RESPONSIBLE TO: CEO
HOURS OF DUTY: 18.75 Hours per week
SALARY: £23,000 plus pension contribution (pro rata)
CONTRACT: 3 years
Start Date: April 2021

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with the service manager, hub manager and CEO to offer support, training and supervision to our volunteers. Volunteers are vital to our growing organisation and thanks to lottery funding we have funding for three years for the right candidate.
The Worker will be responsible for growing and developing our offer to volunteers and will be responsible for developing relationships with partner organisations to build and maintain opportunities for people to volunteer within our organisation. You will be responsible for all things volunteering and should have a proven track record in working within a team.
Position in the organisation
The volunteer co-ordinator reports to the Hub Manager and is responsible for delivery of but not limited to the initiatives listed below.
Duties and key responsibilities - summary
· Have a good or excellent knowledge of volunteering
· Have experience of supporting and managing volunteers
· Ensure that the organisation is offering a positive experience in line with current legislation for volunteering
· The volunteer coordinator will be responsible for volunteer rota for both day and evening volunteer shifts.
· Recruiting, inducting, training and offering on- going support to all volunteers
· Develop a Service User Involvement program for the organisation
· Follow safety systems and other operational procedures relating to the delivery of the service always, including but not limited to safeguarding, health & safety, risk assessment, lone working, security, and data protection and confidentiality etc.
· Capture and record accurate and timely monitoring and management information in relation to volunteering and service user involvement.
Service management, quality, and compliance
Working with management to ensure that all services are developed, delivered, and improved in line with organisational policies, procedures and quality assurance requirements, including adherence to all relevant legislation and external regulation.
Financial management and planning
To contribute to the annual planning process, considering the strategic direction of Teardrops, local commissioning priorities and other identified local needs.
Where appropriate to support the CEO in developing and managing annual budgets, including provision of accurate costings, monitoring expenditure, reconciling income and expenditure, monthly reporting, and re-forecasts.
External relationships, profile and wider Teardrops activities
To act at local level as an ambassador for Teardrops and for people affected by homelessness or poverty promoting their interests and the organisation’s strategies for meeting their needs.
To provide support for local fundraising activities, as agreed with the CEO.
Working collaboratively and proactively with fundraising colleagues, to generate and maximise income to support all the charity’s activities.
Additional responsibilities
To adhere to all Teardrops service standards, policies, and procedures.
To comply with the data protection regulations, ensuring that information on clients remains confidential.
To be responsible for personal learning and development, to support the learning and development of others and the whole organisation.
To administrate and organise own work to ensure that it is accurate and meets quality targets, reasonable deadlines, and reporting requirements.
Willing and able to work non-social hours on occasion (including occasional weekend and evening hours)
Willingness to act as an external representative and ambassador for the Charity - Closing date
