About the role –
As a HCA you will report directly to the senior in charge/nurse in charge/deputy and Home manager. You will be provided with suitable training and support in order to fulfil your role and you will receive a mentor system via one of your colleagues. There will be the opportunity for progression through NVQ routes moving to senior HCA and if based in a nursing home the future could also support you being trained as a Care Home Assistant Practitioner! Ultimately success in the role is knowing that your residents are well cared for and within a safe environment as well as your own professional development.
We fully believe that by supporting each individual within their role to achieve their full potential then this supports the overall quality of care we can provide to our residents and adds to the success of the business.
Core Duties –
· Assisting residents with their day to day personal care
· Assisting with meals/drinks to support our residents overall nutrition
· Engaging with residents who wish to take part in ongoing recreational activities
· Supporting the Seniors/Nursing staff and Home Manager with your own professional development
Skills and experience – We welcome staff from all backgrounds and skills and experience within the care sector whilst helpful are not always necessary – we can support you with the skills you require to work within the care sector but we really require people who have a passion for the role and the industry and understand the importance of supporting our most vulnerable client group. We believe that to fulfil the role of a healthcare assistant you require a caring and empathetic skill set and a desire to make a difference.

Staff are supported to achieve their own full potential whilst delivering the highest possible standards of care, rotas will be organised in advance and set against your core contracted hours to provide you with adequate work life balance.
Benefits – We offer an attendance bonus as an add on to your hourly rate and an additional supplement should you work weekends/nights. In addition you can enrol in one of our professional development programmes – care certificate, NVQ levels 2 and 3 and in the future our Care Home Assistant Practitioner programme. There are progression opportunities to support you moving through to Senior HCA, CHAP, Deputy Home Manager and you are our future talented Home Managers!
Working week – Shifts are set at 12 hour shifts 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am. As we do provide 24 hour care we need individuals to be flexible and also work weekends but we do this weekend on weekend off on the rota, we will also if you wish block your shifts together so if you work x36 hours we would group your shifts as x3 together allowing you x4 days off!
