Personal Care Assistant/support Worker

Job Description
hours of work: up to 25 hours per week to be worked flexibly in line with the needs of the employer. working hours flexible over 7 days to be negotiated with employer. weekly hours may also increase slightly over certain periods.
introduction:
a personal care assistant is required to support a young woman attend hospital appointments, groups and other appointments. basic support with food shopping and meal/fluid preparation is also required. the pa will be expected to assist with personal care and also support with the general tidying of the house making sure the house is habitable for the employer. to also assist with her caring duties for her young baby and to travel to places such as parks and aquarium etc.
the pa will also be expected to assist with opening post and keeping on track with letters and appointments.
a person with a full driving licence and access to a vehicle would be preferred.
main duties:
• support with personal care
• to accompany the employer to hospital appointments and other appointments.
• help with shopping and basic meal and drink preparation
• ensure the service users safety at all times during your working period.
• to carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time for example hospital visit.

• active, energetic and sociable
• a good sense of humour
• flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job.
• caring, honest, responsible and patient.
• punctual and reliable with good time keeping.
• able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
• able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy
• an ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
• good communication and inter-personal skills.
• ideally driver with use of own vehicle.

training provided if required, where available.
this appointment is subject to an enhanced dbs check, which will incur no cost to the applicant.
