- Merseyside Youth Association offers young people in Liverpool who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) intensive wraparound support to help them access opportunities in education, employment, or training (EET). Young people need to be aged 18 - 21. There is no minimum length of time that they have to have been NEET. We deliver an employability-focused programme prioritising target groups with multiple and complex barriers, including SEND/Neurodiversity, young offenders, single parents, individuals affected by addiction, etc. Drawing on MYA’s Talent Match model, integrating trauma-informed mentoring, personal development, skills building, and employment coaching, it enables participants to progress into sustainable outcomes. Each young person is assigned to a consistent Youth Mentor who will provide a stable trusted adult relationship from induction through to exit, supporting motivation, goal setting, and progression into an EET destination. Delivery combines: Structured mentoring Therapeutic support Employability coaching Community-based personal and social development activities. The programme balances individualised personal action planning to address barriers to employment with experiential activities, that are interest-based to develop transferrable skills for use in the workplace, E.G. Communication, confidence and resilience building, teamwork, workplace behaviours. Within this journey they will also have access to health and wellbeing support, looking at healthy relationships, addressing anxiety, low mood and digital wellbeing. Progression is employment-focused with the aim of supporting young people to enter the labour market. Employment progression will consist of: Individualised coaching: Job searches, CVs and applications, interview preparation Work placements and volunteering: Real-world experience with employers Life skills: Travel training, budgeting, time management, workplace behaviours Community connections: Employer visits, networking, marketplace events, mentoring from local businesses
