The School of Engineering is looking to appoint a technician to support research activities. You should have served a recognised apprenticeship as a Toolmaker/Precision Machinist and be qualified to BTEC Higher Level (or equivalent qualification). You must have extensive machining knowledge on both conventional and CNC workshop/toolroom machinery. Also, CNC programming knowledge, preferably with modern CAM off-line programming skills. You should be able to work under minimum supervision to produce complex components from a variety of materials, including design and manufacture of jigs and fixtures. Your duties will involve assisting with the manufacture and assembly of a large piece of research equipment. You will support the commissioning and development of the test facility and assist in its operation.

£33,482 PA
