Liverpool Schools Investment Programme Team has been nominated for the prestigious national 'GO AWARD', billed as the ultimate accolade within the world of public procurement.
This is in recognition of the work they have done to deliver 11 of 12 new schools promised as part of the Mayor's pledge. The new schools have been built on time, on schedule, on budget and to an exceptionally high standard.
The project has also delivered on local labour, local spend and apprenticeship targets too. In fact, it is calculated that the £170 million programme will have supported almost 2000 construction jobs by the time it completes.
And we are pleased to have played a part in this success also... By bringing together local people, local employers and the main contractors, Liverpool In Work has helped create jobs, boost skills, build better communities and improve lives.
We have our fingers crossed for the award ceremony on 8 March and wish the Programme Team the very best of luck.
